St. Mark's Presbyterian Geneva Room Tuesday, December 10, 2019 6-8pm
Join Sustainable Tucson on Tuesday, November 12th from 6-8 pm to learn more about native trees and plants of the Southwest and Mexico from the owners of Spadefoot Nursery, Katy and Jared. This special evening promises to be very fun and informative.
Tucson is a great place to live…But that doesn’t mean we can’t make it better!
Join Code for Tucson and Sustainable Tucson for the opening weekend of the TENWEST Impact Festival. Using the Sustainable Development Goals (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/) as a guide, teams of 2-6 civic-minded participants will work together over two days to develop concepts to make Tucson more livable, more sustainable, and more equitable. Projects can take any form: a technological solution, a business idea, or a political action. The best ideas can be developed as projects of Code for Tucson or Sustainable Tucson over the next year.
So, bring your ideas and your enthusiasm. We’ll supply the space, support, and food.
Tucson is the fifth poorest city in the United States. How do we grow our economy in a sustainable manner? How do we make Tucson more prosperous while protecting our unique environment and resources? How do we ensure all Tucson residents share in the prosperity?
These are difficult questions. Join us for our next topical issues session at a special location: a local Tucson brewpub! We’ll have an informative and inspiring panel discussion with local leaders working to grow Tucson.
Bring your questions and your appetite for a unique Tucson experience.

Join Sustainable Tucson for a fun-filled “Movie Night” and the premiere of No! (That Isn’t Recyclable). Our hosts David Fitzsimmons and the Recycling Fairy Nicole Johnson will lead the Q & A with the filmmakers. We will also screen the powerful documentary Trashed with Jeremy Irons. Here’s the cool part! It will be shown at The Screening Room – where we shot some of the video! So you can enjoy popcorn and drinks in special compostable glasses!
Fun and games include:
A demonstration table by Zero Waste Tucson
A “Book Exchange.” Bring one or two books you don’t read anymore and take a book! (We especially love books on sustainability!)
Game: Stump our resident recycling expert! Bring a piece of trash to see if it can be recycled.
