Sustainable Tucson works with the local community to cultivate a richer environmental landscape and build a sustainable future right here in southern Arizona.  Since 2006, we have:

  • Hosted monthly presentations by scholars, activists, and policy-makers on pressing issues and cutting-edge solutions
  • Promoted zero-waste thinking in policy and personal lifestyle
  • Contributed to climate plans for public institutions
  • Spawned initiatives such as Pollinator Gardens and the Repair Cafe

Ambassadors of Sustainability have been a big part of this growth and effort.  You are cordially invited to join us:

Day/time:  Twelve Saturdays, 10 am to noon
Dates:  Jan 3 – Mar 28, 2026
Venue:  Online, with optional field trip Feb 14 and potluck tbd
Cost:  $80; Sustainable Tucson members $60; students $30; scholarships available on request

Learn alongside like-minded individuals, hearing from local experts on topics like energy transformation, sustainable and affordable housing, water conservation, and more.  Skills of diplomacy and emotional regulation are woven throughout.  Each class is complemented with 1-2 hours of reading, screening, and reflection.

By course completion, you will feel more connected and better prepared to serve as an ambassador for a future in harmony with our desert home.

From course participants:

“Thank you for facilitating such a rich experience these past couple of months.  I have learned so much about sustainability and ways to grow my character and communication skills. . . . The program was amazing.”
