Pollinator Equity Project seeking committee members and one-time volunteers.
Would you like to boost our local pollinator population and diversity while helping to beautify public spaces such as neighborhood street or school and community gardens? Would you like to learn propagation techniques and/or foster some potted native pollinator plants in your own backyard? If so, the Pollinator Equity Project is the ST committee for you. We propagate native pollinator plants for donation to tree-planting and beautification projects in neighborhoods that cannot afford to buy plants. We also help build pollinator gardens and will be participating in the maintenance the pollinator garden Pima County will soon be installing north of the Himmel Park Library. Our nursery is located just north of the U of A Main Campus at Rincon Heights Community Garden.
Upcoming Events: We are looking for volunteers for the following:
1) Site prep and pollinator garden planting at Keeling Community Garden (in conjunction with ST HRC and Tucson Organic Gardeners) on Sundays from Feb. 1 through March 1
2) Pollinator garden planting at Dunbar Pavilion (Spring 2026, date TBA)
3) Tabling and selling plants at the Tucson Organic Gardeners 2026 Spring Fair, March 21.
Whether interested in serving on the PEP committee or just a one-time volunteer session, please contact melodypeters@cox.net
