Vision 2045 Workshop
The foundation of a sustainable Tucson, is climate-ready and resilient neighborhoods. One of them can be yours.
Join the Movement: Help Your Neighborhood Thrive
Imagine a future where your neighborhood is safe, beautiful, and climate-ready. Through the BR//BC project, we’re empowering residents like you to lead this transformation. By becoming a Neighborhood Champion, you can help
guide your community through the Vision 2045 workshop, where neighbors come together to create a shared vision for a sustainable future.
Why Climate-Ready Neighborhoods Matter
A sustainable Tucson begins at the neighborhood level. In the face of climate emergencies, knowing your neighbors and working together is crucial. When a crisis hits, it’s too late
to start building connections. By preparing now, you help your community become resilient, ensuring that when challenges arise, you and your neighbors are ready to respond together.
What is the Vision 2045 Workshop?
The Vision 2045 workshop is a hands-on event where neighbors work together to imagine their ideal future neighborhood. Participants envision streets that prioritize pedestrian safety, lush pocket parks
that invite social gatherings, and a canopy of trees nourished by rainwater and graywater. The goal is to create a neighborhood that’s safe, shaded, fun, and ready for the challenges of climate change.
How to Get Involved as a Neighborhood Champion
As a Neighborhood Champion, you’ll convene a small group of your neighbors through the Vision 2045 workshop, which will be lead by a trained facilitator. You’ll have brief training program, and an “Ideas Manual” packed with inspiring examples from around the world and our PowerPoint presentation that
explains how to the workshop, works. You don’t have to be an expert—just someone who cares about building a better future for your community.
Tools and Resources to Help You Succeed
We’re here to support you every step of the way. The BR//BC working group has developed a range of resources to make it easy for you to lead. In addition to the Ideas Manual and presentation, we’re creating a Resource Guide that will connect you with local organizations and tools to help implement your neighborhood’s vision.
